Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi tarafından İstanbul’a getirilen bu uluslarası çalışma Dr. Beril Özmen Mayer, Dr. Kris Sheerlinck ve Oikodomos Proje Lideri Prof. Dr. Leandro Madrazo’nun koordinatörlüğüyle düzenlenmiştir.
Fransa, Slovakya, İspanya, İsviçre, Kuzey Kıbrıs’tan katılan Oikodomos Partner Mimarlık ve Planlama Bölümleri akademisyenlerinin senkronize bir anlayışla çalıştığı ortak eğitim programının bir parçası olarak ‘Konut Eğitimi’ne odaklanan bu çalışma, Bologna ölçütleriyle desteklenerek bir Sanal Kampüs ortamı üzerinden yürütülmektedir.
2009- 2010 akademik yılında Sanal ortamda yapılan çalışmalar, İstanbul’da seçilen tarihi Göksu Mahallesi’nde tartışılması ile bu çok-ortamlı araştırmaya farklı bir boyut katan Workshop, partner okullardan 14 öğretim üyesi ve 45 uluslarası öğrencinin katılımıyla başarılı bir şekilde tamamlanmıştır.
DAÜ ve İTÜ ‘Konut eğitim ve araştırma merkezlerinin işbirliğiyle Taşkışla’da yapılan atölye çalışmasına katkı koyanlar arasında eski İTÜ Rektörü ve HREC Başkanı Prof. Dr. Gülsün Sağlamer, İTÜ Rektör Yardımcısı ve HREC Başkan yardımcısı Prof. Dr. Ahsen Özsoy, İTÜ Mimarlık Fakültesi Dekanı Prof. Dr. Orhan Hacıhasanoğlu, HERA Merkez Başkanı Doç. Dr. Turkan Ulusu Uraz, Ramon LLull Üniversitesi Mimarlık ve Mühendislik Fakültesi’nden Oikodomos Proje Lideri Prof. Dr. Leandro Madrazo, DAÜ öğretim üyesi ve-HERA Merkez Başkan Yardımcısı Doç. EMU Urban Design Postgraduate Program Students’ Success at Yıldız Technical University

Within the framework of the collaboration protocol established between Architecture Faculties of Eastern Mediterranean University and Yıldız Technical University, a project entitled ‘Bringing Yenicami region in Nicosia back to life and urban design project’ prepared by Urban Design Postgraduate program students during the fall semester of 2010-2011 academic year was exhibited at Yıldız Technical University between 24 March and 8 April 2011. Project coordinators Assist. Prof. Dr. Beser OKTAY VEHBİ and Assist. Prof. Dr. Resmiye ALPAR ATUN were invited to the exhibition to deliver a seminar on the projects theoretical framework and its stages.
In this respect, project coordinator Beser OKTAY VEHBİ, research assistant Samaneh Ghafourian and three students who designed the project (Mohsen Far, Sanaz Saeidi and Abdollah Mobaraki) went to İstanbul for the opening ceremony of the exhibition and to deliver a seminar on the project.
A Conference by Prof.Dr. Güzin Konuk in Faculty of Architecture: “EASTERN HARBOUR DISTRICT – AMSTERDAM”

Dean of Faculty of Architecture, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Prof.Dr. Güzin Konuk gave a conference at the Faculty of Architecture in EMU, on Friday, 1st April, 2011.
In her talk, Prof. Konuk emphasized the importance of strategic approaches to cities. She has stated that in this globalizing world, all cities should have new look for their future; yet this new look should be based on a planned urban economics.
The cities should be planned in a strategic planning approach, according to Prof. Konuk, and each city should sustain its own unique identity with strategic plans and urban projects.
Prof.Dr. Güzin Konuk, structured her talk around the recent urban housing projects on the four Islands in Amsterdam: KNSM, Java, Bornea & Sprenburg Islands.
